Alliance 2 XFL: Week 3 AAF Odds

Two weeks into the season and I’m 4-4 overall after going 2-2 last week. I was on San Antonio last week, but they faltered at the end. The Fleet bailed me out with a strong fourth quarter to salvage a break even weekend.

Arizona at Salt Lake +3: This is a week 1 rematch in which Arizona cruised comfortably in the second half after a close first half that saw Stallions QB Josh Woodrum go down with an injury. He’s slated to return this week. I think that coupled with Salt Lake playing its first home game keeps this close throughout. The Hotshots behind their powerful run game grind out a win, but the Stallions cover.

Memphis at Orlando -13.5: On paper this looks like a blowout, but I think this will be a closer game then people think. Orlando is coming off of a physical road win in San Antonio and has been uprooted from their Florida home to have to practice in Georgia due to insurance reasons. The Express have an impressive and physical offensive & defensive line. The physicality of last week’s game, plus the physical Express team will keep this close. Orlando’s aerial attack led by Garrett Gilbert is explosive enough offensively to win the game, but look for Memphis to cover.

Birmingham at Atlanta +6: The Legends get their first home game against a tenacious Iron defense. I’m expecting a low scoring, close affair in this one. The Iron struggle some in the red zone and the Legends did improve from week 1 to 2. Behind their home crowd, look for the Legends to cover the number. Iron in a nail biter.

San Antonio at San Diego -2: I’m surprised that the Fleet are favored in the game so that tells me something. The Commanders are playing their first road game and are coming of a heartbreaking defeat against the Apollos. The Fleet won their first game last week and played San Antonio tough in week 1. The Fleet do just enough to win and cover as the Commanders come out flat early before storming back to fall just short.
